The voyage will end in Stavanger on Monday, the 23rd of August 2027 at 0900hrs

Join us onboard Eda Frandsen for a high-summer adventure along Norway’s spectacular south-west coast. In August, when the days are long and the light lingers late into the evening, we will explore the dramatic fjords and island-studded seascapes that surround the vibrant harbour city of Stavanger.

Step aboard in Stavanger’s historic Vågen harbour, where white wooden houses climb the hillside above the waterfront and fishing boats still share the quay with modern yachts. From Stavanger, we head north into the sheltered waters of the Boknafjord and beyond, weaving between low-lying islands, narrow sounds and open stretches of sea.

Our 6-night voyage may take us into the awe-inspiring Lysefjord — home to the iconic Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock) — or westwards towards the wild beaches and open horizons of the Jæren coastline and the island of Utsira, infamous thanks to the Shipping Forecast! Granite cliffs rise steeply from deep blue water, and remote anchorages offer complete tranquillity beneath vast Nordic skies. August brings a special quality of light: warm evenings, golden reflections on still water, and the chance to swim from smooth rock ledges in sheltered coves.

Our voyages are centred on time spent under sail, typically sailing for 4–6 hours each day before anchoring in peaceful bays or mooring alongside small coastal communities each evening. Venture ashore by dinghy to hike dramatic cliff-top trails, wander through quiet island villages, or simply sit with a view that feels almost impossibly vast. Travelling by traditional sailing vessel allows access to places few ever reach.

All meals are freshly prepared on board. Expect delicious local seafood, seasonal Nordic produce, freshly baked bread and a generous selection of cakes and desserts enjoyed together in the glow of the saloon. Life on board quickly settles into a gentle rhythm — morning swims, steady sailing, shared meals and long evenings beneath a sky that barely darkens.

As with all true sailing adventures, our exact route is shaped by the weather and sea conditions. This flexibility allows us to choose the safest and most rewarding passages each day. While specific destinations cannot be guaranteed, our experienced crew use their local knowledge to ensure every voyage is rich in sailing, scenery and memorable anchorages.

Your voyage is fully inclusive, with all onboard meals covered in the price. Our skilled and adaptable chef is happy to cater to dietary needs, while you choose your own pace — trimming sails on deck, learning traditional seamanship, or simply watching the Norwegian coastline unfold.
