Welcome to the world of Eda Frandsen, a little hello from us, so that you can get to know your crew!
We are Mungo and Stella, together we have owned Eda Frandsen since 2020, taking folks sailing up and down the West Coast of the UK, sharing all that this wonderful part of the world has to offer. Having grown up on the West Coast of Scotland, Mungo learnt to sail on the shores of Loch Linnhe, his career at sea has since taken him across the globe, and he has explored many a Pacific Atoll, Caribbean Island, much of the Mediterranean and North Atlantic waters.
Stella, an artist and illustrator, grew up sailing in Cornwall. After Mungo convinced her to move to Maine for a boatbuilding project, she finally conceded that sailing together was quite fun and that starting a business on an old wooden boat wouldn’t be such a bad idea.
We believe that sailing should be fun, safe and welcoming for everybody and delight in sharing all that this wonderful part of the world has to offer. A wooden boat provides a platform like no other; the mix of heritage, natural materials and time spent in nature truly does create an unforgettable sailing holiday.
We aim to make our sailing experiences the best that they can possibly be, and sometimes this means that we need to take time off to catch up on rest. If we can’t be onboard for your voyage, we have a wonderful collection of friends and fellow seafarers ready to jump into our shoes. You can be assured that any crew member you encounter on board Eda Frandsen will be fully qualified, experienced and generally a delight to be around (we like to make sure of that).
Mungo and Stella are both commercially endorsed Yachtmasters operating under the STCW95 convention. Eda Frandsen is British-flagged and coded for operation by the Maritime Coast Guard Agency.
Stella also has a vested interest in your health and well-being onboard Eda Frandsen, and her love of locally sourced, sustainable produce will see you happily fed throughoutyour stay. Any chef onboard operates under the Level Two Highfield standards of Food Safety & Hygiene.
